Telecommunications in the Classroom
Telecommunications is defined by dictionary.com as the transmission of information, as words, sounds, or images, usually over great distances, or in the form of electromagnetic signals, as by telegraph, telephone, radio, or television, and the science and technology of such communication. Today in the 21st century classroom, however, telecommunications is so uch more then just using a telegraph, telephone, radio, or television. Computers, iphones, ipads, android devices, and/or Smartboards are now the new ways that our students communicate. They are the new technology world natives, and we are the immigrants to their world. As natives they are skilled and well versed in their technology world, and we as teachers need to keep pace with the technology in order to better equip our students with tools that allow them to compete with the other technology natives out there in the world. This wiki is designed to introduce you to a sampling of the various technology out there, that is available to teachers and students alike. As well as some national speakers and other tutorials on ways you can use the technology in your classroom. Check out the pages on the right and enjoy!
